All Things Jordan

Jordan (and her mommy and daddy) came to visit for Richard's birthday. Here are a few pictures we got in. She is so alert.Time for a little sustenance.

Tyler is at it again!!!!!

You will probably remember that Tyler switched out the engine in his car this past fall. Well he traded off that CRX for an Integra and now he is painting that!. He has been working for months on the body of his car and yesterday he was able to paint it. Here is Tyler and his friend Rial who has been helping him all along the way.The Integra.

Hours and hours and hours of work. The red Civic in the back is his next project :( !

The morning started out a little ominous when the Integra wouldn't start. They had to jump the battery. Here is Rial pushing the car out.

Thank goodness for jumper cables.

We will post the finished project when it comes home from the booth!!!!!!!

Spring Flowers

These Iris flowers appear in my back yard every year around Easter. They are bulbs my father planted eons ago and they just keep multiplying year after year. I just love them and they don't last too long; but they are always a welcome addition to the back yard.

Maintenance Work

We have old (I mean 50+ year old) pecan trees in our front yard. It was time to do some heavy pruning and here are Richard and Kyle taking on the challenge. Richard wedged himself into the tree branches and started sawing away! This is the part that I don't watch. I just make sure Kyle has his cell phone and knows to call 911 the minute Richard falls out of the tree!

Jordan's Birthday

Jordan Rylie Allen arrived at 7:50 am on April 10, 2008. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long. She and her momma are doing great. Kaila ended up having a c-section because Jordan had flipped a few days earlier and was breach. Jordan has a little brown fuzz for hair, sweet cheeks and long fingers and toes. She is adorable! She makes our grandchildren an even dozen evenly distributed, 6 girls, 6 boys.

Jimmy was just giddy. Both he and Kaila were exhausted but they were absolutely thrilled.

Kaila hands off the little package. My first chance to hold her. What a blessing...and she lives in town...the only grandchild out of 12 that lives in town!

The kids are so lucky. They have the support of all of their parents who are helping them adjust to this new bundle of joy.

If you have a weak stomach you may wish to forgo this picture. We celebrated with an Easter Dinner on Conference weekend when 3 of the kids were here with their families. Poor Peter had been sick all week but had perked up and was eating more and more as the weekend progressed. He also was having more juice. This combination led to an explosive situation just as our nice china/crystal Sunday dinner was coming to a close. We first noticed the smell, then Adam says "don't look" and we all knew what had happened. Peter had had a major blowout that was coarsing down the legs of the highchair to the carpet floor! We rushed him out the front door and prepared to clean him up......but no, first we needed to take pictures so we could blog this. Are we sick or what? Needless to say everyone was definitely finished with their dinner!

Peter C and Caprina Birthday Celebration

Caprina turned 5 in March and Peter C turned 1 in April so we gathered to celebrate their special days. Richard's family has had a tradition to serve chocolate cake on the first birthday to capture in technicolor the MESS!!! Here Caprina helps me frost the cupcakes and then enjoyed licking the knife!

Playdough

We made playdough and here are some of the creations the kids came up with. This was a fun activity and kept the kids occupied for quite some time. A great Sunday activity for sure.Sam including his characters in his playdough.

Sunday Conference Fun

For Sunday General Conference sessions the kids had packets to help them enjoy the experience. They were kept busy with coloring, matching, seek and finds and lots more. They loved them. Here is Sam working on his.Peter and Tyler listening, with Ben, Adam and Levi working on their packets.
