Hang on to your hats, Aaron is 16!

We started the celebration of Aaron's 16th birthday at Panda Express~his favorite.Aaron is the only one who uses chopsticks and he is dang good at it too.

The evening before his birthday Richard and I took him to get his present. He tried several bikes and chose this "Mongoose". The dirt bike will work well for him on the dirt and gravel roads up north.

This is a sweet story. Aaron loves to swim (as you will see) and the neighbor has been so good to let us use their pool. They have 2 grandsons that adore Aaron. They would come over and ask if he could swim! They found out it was his birthday and Bridget and the boys made Aaron this funfetti cake.

Yes! Presents.

Aaron asked for a Tres Leches Cake (3 milk cake). I told him I would try. I called Abish for the recipe (Thanks Abish) and did my best to recreate what he was wanting. To my amazement it was delicious! I couldn't have asked for it to turn out better. Lighting the candles though was a little difficult until we turned off the ceiling fan.

All in all we had a great time. Congratulations Aaron. Not only will you be driving on your own soon. . . . . BUT now you can DATE!!

Aaron's Permit

One of the rights of passage for a teenager is THE PERMIT. Aaron got his this week and that called for a celebration!

At dinner Aaron was the first to use our new "celebrate" plate. (Thanks Dana) The honoree of the evening is "special" thus the plate.

Of course no celebration is complete without cake. And when the temperature outside tops 110 the cake must be made of ice cream!

Look out drivers here he comes! Way to go Aaron, we are proud of you.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day with a family breakfast. (The only time we could get those in town together!) Nat, Adam and family, James (first Father's Day YAHOO), Kaila and Jordan, and Tyler, Kyle and Aaron were all here to celebrate. What a blessing it is to have Richard as the head of our home and Priesthood leader. He is a good man with strong values and ethics. His gentle nature and compassionate demeanor attract people to him wherever he goes. He is truly a blessing and we are all crazy about him! Here he is with the card Natalie made for him. (He loved it) The kids got Richard this awesome electric razor and the best thing is it lives up to it's hype! It really is easy on the neck. Thanks everyone.

Kyle visits the emergency room

On an up note, Kyle has moved back in with us! We are so thrilled; it is always great to have him home. On the down side, 2 days after he arrived we had him in the emergency room. The diagnosis????? Bell's Palsy. Kyle had already determined what was wrong with him before we went in and he was right on target. We originally took him to urgent care and they told him probably Bell's and suggested he go the ER for a cat scan and blood work to verify that he wasn't having a stroke. This was one visit that wasn't too stressful because we were pretty sure what the outcome would be. Here are a few picks of us hanging out waiting for the doctor and then test results.Just chillin'

He got tired of the bed and had to pace some. Tyler was engaged in telephone games.

Here we are as we leave with a drooping Kyle and a few prescriptions to get him back to normal. He is having trouble with his eye drying out but he keeps the drops in them and is great about taking the meds.

ROAD TRIP WITH MY SISTER'S IN LAW

This past Saturday Jolyn, Donna and I took a road trip to Thatcher. We went to visit a little with Marlene and to attend the baby shower of Marlene's daughter in law, Kortney. We had such a fun trip but you might not be able to tell by the photos. I didn't take any of people!!!! Here is a little place in Globe that we always get burritos from called "Burger House". They are great and you can't go through without stocking up. (A dozen was gone by Monday in out house) Here is Marlene and Ron's new store in Thatcher. It is beautiful and huge. The whole showroom was wonderfully put together and the credit goes to Marlene. She has such a great talent for arranging and accessorizing.
